Job Description

Silverton ISD is seeking a dedicated and reliable Paraprofessional/Instructional Assistant to join the team at Silverton ISD. This position will support classroom teachers in delivering high-quality instruction and fostering a positive learning environment for all students. The Instructional Assistant works under the direction of a certified teacher to provide individualized and small-group support, assist with classroom management, and help ensure every student has the opportunity to succeed.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the classroom teacher in implementing lesson plans and instructional activities
• Provide one-on-one or small-group support to students, including those with individualized education plans (IEPs) as needed
• Help monitor student behavior and maintain a safe, orderly classroom environment
• Supervise students during transitions, recess, lunch, and other non-instructional times
• Support students with special needs in accordance with their IEP or 504 plan
• Communicate professionally with teachers, staff, and parents regarding student progress
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervising teacher or campus administration

Job Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED, Valid Texas educational aide certificate, Citizenship, residency, or work VISA in United States required. Ability to work well with children, Ability to communicate effectively, Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior. Strong organization, communication, and interpersonal skills. Willingness to grow professionally.
