Job summary

Vistra Energy, located in Irving, TX, seeks a Day-Ahead Trader to manage PJM physical and financial positions, including DA and RT energy bidding for all PJM generation assets and wholesale/retail loads.

Responsibilities include submitting Day Ahead and Real Time bids, scheduling trades, coordinating gas and coal, and providing input to P&L and asset strategy. 2–5 years of relevant experience preferred.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years’ experience in Commercial Asset Management, Trading, or Market Analytics.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; excel-based models.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strong analytical skills.
• Knowledgeable of power and fuel markets.
• Experience with PJM market rules and regulatory input.

Responsibilities

• Development of Day Ahead and Real Time submissions for PJM assets.
• Schedule all physical power trades.
• Coordinate gas purchases with fuels team and manage imbalance.
• Coordinate coal inventory with Sold Fuel team.
• Provide input to cash month P&L and assist in asset strategy.
