Job summary

Jewish Federation of San Antonio is seeking a warm, creative PJ Library Coordinator to lead development and implementation of engaging programs for young families, reinforcing Jewish values and traditions through hands-on experiences.

The role includes building relationships with PJ Library families, coordinating book subscriptions, planning events, managing newsletters and social media, and partnering with synagogues and community groups; flexible 15-20 hours per week, hourly wage commensurate

• Knowledge of Federation system and the broader Jewish community.

• Proficiency in Excel, email marketing software, and Canva.
• Social media proficiency, especially Instagram and Facebook.

Responsibilities

• Build and sustain meaningful relationships with PJ Library families.
• Design and implement engaging twice-monthly programs and other opportunities to share Jewish values and foster connection among families.
• Provide administrative support for local PJ Library book subscriptions in coordination with the national office.
• Assist in planning and execution of larger community events with young families.
• Develop outreach strategies to welcome new families into the PJ Library community.
• Produce and manage a monthly newsletter and other communications to keep families informed.
• Oversee social media and other marketing efforts to promote PJ Library books, events, and initiatives.
• Foster collaboration with community partners to enhance program reach, including partnerships with synagogues/Jewish agencies and cross-space collaborations.
• Ensure compliance with grant and reporting requirements from Harold Grinspoon Foundation.

PJ Library is a nationally recognized, award-winning program that brings the joy of Jewish life into homes through free Jewish children’s books and meaningful family experiences and programs throughout our community.

Position Summary: We are seeking a warm, creative, and organized PJ Library Coordinator to lead the development and implementation of fun, engaging, and inclusive programs for young families . This role is all about creating opportunities for families to connect with Jewish values, traditions, and one another through high-quality, hands-on experiences. A teacher would be especially successful in this role.

Responsibilities:

• Provide administrative support for local PJ Library book subscriptions in coordination with the national office.
• Assist in the planning and execution of larger community events that include young families.
• Develop outreach strategies to connect with and welcome new families into the PJ Library community.

• Oversee social media and other marketing efforts to promote PJ Library books, events, and initiatives.
• Foster collaboration with community partners to enhance program reach and impact , including an event partnering with each synagogue/Jewish agency twice a year and partner in non-Jewish spaces as well .
• Ensure compliance with all grant and reporting requirements from the Harold Grinspoon Foundation.

15-20 flexible hours per week. The hourly wage is commensurate with experience. The role includes a generous paid holiday and sick leave package, as well as participation in the annual PJ Library Professional Conference. Ongoing professional development and support are provided through PJ Library’s national network.
