Job summary

Palermo Villa, Inc. is seeking a Weight Checker to join the Jefferson facility on-site. You will help ensure target weights and visual standards, supporting production and quality teams to keep products consistent, safe, and delicious. The role emphasizes accuracy, documentation, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to train others on scales and visual standards.
• Basic computer and math skills, with HACCP understanding preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensures scales are properly set up in Red Zone and verified before start-up of each shift.
• Perform frequent visual product reviews to ensure proper topping distribution.
• Take corrective action when product does not meet photo standards or target weights.
• Audit changeovers to ensure proper procedures are followed.
• Apply understanding of HACCP principles and Palermo’s CCP procedures.
• Oversee topping and product weights in processing and packaging areas.
• Conduct metal detection checks, code date reviews, and inkjet print verification.
• Audit documentation for forms and hourly checks to ensure accuracy.
