Palermo's Pizza in Milwaukee is seeking a detail-oriented Weight Checker to ensure pizzas meet target weights and visual standards. You will support production and quality teams to keep products consistent, safe, and delicious.

The role requires reading scales, performing visual reviews, documenting checks, and training teammates on weight and photo standards. A reliable team player with basic math skills fits well in our fast-paced food manufacturing environment.

Qualificações

• English fluency is required for clear communication.

• Basic computer and math skills for data entry and calculations.
• Understanding of HACCP principles is preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Ensure scales are properly set up and verified before each shift.
• Perform visual product reviews for topping distribution and accuracy.
• Take corrective action when weights or photo standards are off.
• Verify photo standards are displayed for each changeover.
• Confirm staff are trained on visual quality requirements.
• Audit documentation to ensure forms are complete and accurate.
• Audit changeovers to ensure proper procedures are followed.
• Assist Line Lead with training, machine setup, and performance boards.
• Maintain equipment such as iPad, scales, and Bluetooth tools.

In this critical role, you'll support production and quality teams to keep our products consistent, safe, and delicious — just the way our customers expect them.

What You’ll Do

• Ensure scales are properly set up in Red Zone and verified before start-up of each shift.
• Perform frequent visual product reviews to ensure proper topping distribution and coverage.
• Take corrective action when product does not meet photo standards or target weights.
• Ensure photo standards are accurate, available, and displayed for each changeover.
• Confirm employees are trained on visual quality requirements (crust, sauce, cheese, toppings).
• Communicate quality issues with Line Leads, Ingredient Controllers, Area Leads, Supervisors, and Quality Auditors.
• Oversee and verify topping and product weights in both processing and packaging areas.
• Conduct metal detection checks, code date reviews, and inkjet print verification.
• Audit documentation to confirm all forms (Red Zone, Pack Tally, Temperature, Pizza Weight, Hourly Checks, etc.) are complete and accurate.
• Audit changeovers to ensure proper procedures are followed.
• Apply understanding of HACCP principles and Palermo's Critical Control Point (CCP) procedures.
• Ensure WIP product and totes are properly identified, stacked, and labeled.
• Support or back up the Line Lead when needed, including: Conducting training, Machine setup/adjustments, Monitoring Red Zone and sending alerts, Assisting with Visual Performance Boards
• Maintain equipment functionality (iPad, scales, carts, Bluetooth accessories, etc.).
