Job summary

Boxcar Bar + Arcade in Durham is seeking a passionate Kitchen team member to join our crew and help us deliver a high-energy, guest-focused dining experience. You will work with scratch-made recipes, hand-tossed dough, and a fast-paced kitchen at our four NC locations.

We value reliability, stamina, and a friendly demeanor. Experience in a fast-paced kitchen and knowledge of food safety are valued, with ServSafe certification a plus as we support catering orders and daily service.

Qualifications

• Experience in a fast-paced kitchen setting.
• Ability to handle high-volume pizza production and catering.
• ServSafe certification is a plus.
• Able to stand for 8 hours and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Sling dough and execute scratch-made recipes consistently.
• Interact with guests at the kitchen–front area and operate the POS.
• Handle large catering orders for private events without slowing the line.
• Perform prep work, manage inventory, and maintain a clean, food-safe station.
• Complete dishwashing, deep cleans, and closing duties.

What You’ll Do

• Sling dough. Execute our scratch-made recipes with consistency, from hand-tossing to the perfect bake.
• Face the crowd. Our kitchen is open format. You will take orders, run the POS, and interact with guests directly while you work.
• Feed the parties. Handle large catering orders for our private events without slowing down the main line.
• Keep it fresh. Tackle prep work, manage inventory, and keep your station spotless and food-safe.
• Do the dirty work. Dishes, deep cleans, and closing duties are part of the gig. We leave the kitchen better than we found it.

• Reliability. Full stop. Show up, on time, every time.
• Physically ready. You are able to stand for 8 hours and lift over 50 lbs.
• Certification. ServSafe Food Handler Certification is a plus.
