Job summary

MaineGeneral Medical Center is seeking a Food Service Associate to support the Culinary Services team in the cafeteria. You will help prepare and serve at the Pizza Station, with weekend Deli Station duties as needed, delivering friendly service to patients, visitors, and staff.

This role offers on-site work, comprehensive training, and opportunities to grow within a hospital food service environment. You’ll join a collaborative team dedicated to high standards of food safety and patient-focused

Qualifications

• No prior food service experience required.
• Willing to learn and follow procedures.
• Able to stand for extended periods and stay on task.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve food and beverages at the Pizza Station while following recipes, food safety, and guidelines.
• Assist with pizza production, including prep, cooking, portioning, stocking, and maintaining stock levels.
• Provide friendly, efficient customer service to staff, visitors, patients, and other customers.
• Work at the Deli Station on scheduled weekends, assisting with sandwich and deli item production and customer service.
• Operate a cash register and accurately process transactions as assigned.
• Keep food service areas, equipment, counters, and workstations clean and stocked.
