Responsibilities

• Operate and control the pit loader to load and move materials within the pit area.
• Excavates quarry to maintain face, ramp and floor conditions including safety berms.
• Utilize the loader controls to lift, tilt, and dump materials into designated areas or trucks.
• Handle attachments (buckets, forks, etc.) as needed for various tasks.
• Ensure safe operation and perform routine equipment maintenance checks.
• Load materials efficiently with proper weight distribution and stability.
• Follow loading instructions to meet tonnage targets.
• Handle materials with care to prevent spills or damage to equipment.
• Adhere to safety regulations and wear PPE.
• Maintain awareness of surroundings to prevent accidents.
• Report safety concerns, incidents, or malfunctions promptly.
• Collaborate with production team to load according to schedule.
• Optimize loading processes to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.
• Coordinate with truck drivers or conveyors for loading activities.
• Perform pre/post operation checks for safety or mechanical defects.
• Report maintenance needs to the maintenance department.
• Maintain records of materials loaded/unloaded and complete log sheets.
• May direct/train others to operate/maintain the loader.
