Job summary

Vulcan Materials Company is seeking a Pit/Production Loader Operator (Night Shift) to efficiently and safely load rock and gravel into haul trucks within a mining environment. The role requires skilled operation and strict adherence to safety and production targets.

Responsibilities include operating pit loader, performing pre/post checks, coordinating with truck drivers, maintaining records, and training others as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience operating large loaders in mining/quarry environments.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 45 lbs and work in varying weather conditions.
• Familiarity with MSHA and OSHA rules is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate and control the pit loader to load and move materials within the pit area.
• Excavate quarry to maintain face, ramp and floor conditions and safety berms.
• Lift, tilt, and dump materials into designated areas or trucks/conveyors.
• Perform routine maintenance checks and pre/post operation inspections.
• Maintain load stability and distribution for safe transport.
• Coordinate loading with truck drivers and production plans to meet tonnage targets.
• Complete log sheets and documentation as required.
