Position Overview

The Pit Loader Operator for Hotchkiss, CO, will be responsible for keeping the bins full and maintaining loader and conveyors.

Wage Range: $25 to $27 per hour, dependent on experience.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

• Operate front-end loader to transport materials to and from storage and processing areas.
• Operate front-end loader to feed conveyors.
• Load trucks efficiently to meet weight requirements.
• Inspect equipment prior to operation for safety or maintenance issues.
• Perform routine maintenance on the loader such as lubricating, fueling, and cleaning.
• Create and maintain inclines and ramps for excavated materials.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Education/Experience

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 3+ years of experience as a loader operator or similar role.

Work Requirements

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screen, and criminal background check.
• Report to work dressed appropriately and ready at the designated start time.
• Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures outlined in the Employee Handbook.
• Willingness to work independently within a team and assist with other duties as required.

Knowledge/Skill Requirements

• Knowledge of concrete production and aggregate needs.
• Ability to work with others and communicate effectively.
• Observe safety and security procedures.
• Be self-sufficient and perform duties without immediate supervision.
• Properly wear and use PPE at all times.

Physical Requirements

The physical demands are representative of those required to perform the essential functions of this job:

• Frequent standing, walking, reaching, and climbing.
• Frequent sitting and operating heavy equipment/loader.
• Occasionally climbing ladders and steps.
• Regularly lift/move up to 10 pounds, frequently up to 25 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
