Job summary

Butterball is seeking a forklift operator to safely transport products within our production and storage areas. The role involves loading/unloading, maintaining paperwork, and ensuring accurate inventory control in a high-care food environment.

Ideal candidates will hold a High School Diploma, demonstrate strong communication, and be able to work in a fast-paced facility with potential overtime. PIT certification and forklift experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or related required.
• Must communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with foot traffic and material handling.
• Use a handheld scanner to scan products.
• Safely operate forklifts—sit down or stand up, pallet jacks, hand trucks, or dollies to move stock.
• Follow all instructions and work under minimal supervision.
• Obtain PIT certification.
• Ability to communicate with all levels of management.

Responsibilities

• Perform forklift checks daily to ensure safe operation.
• Complete all required paperwork pertaining to product, orders, placement, inventory.
• Accountable for punctual and regular attendance for scheduled work hours.
• Adheres to all USDA and GMP product standards and guidelines.
• Communicate with drivers, coordinators, supervisors, and managers.
• Account for all products and materials in assigned area including inventory and product location.
• Other duties as assigned.
