Job summary

Affiliated Engineers, Inc. (AEI) in Charlottesville seeks a Piping/Plumbing-Fire Protection Engineer I to advance energy-efficient building solutions and safer environments. You will work with seasoned engineers and mentor designers.

Early tasks include load calculations, sizing, layouts, equipment selection, site surveys, and shop drawing reviews, with opportunity to lead projects and write specifications as you grow.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree required.
• GPA of 2.5 minimum.
• EIT certification is a plus.
• Internship in MEP consulting engineering preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform load calculations, system sizing and layouts.
• Determine equipment sizes and select equipment.
• Complete field surveys and review equipment shop drawings.
• Lead piping/plumbing project teams and write specifications as experience grows.
• Participate in client meetings with engineers and other consultants, support construction-phase work.
