Job summary

The Shaw Group, Llc in Walker, LA is seeking a Materials Planner to coordinate and track materials for pipe spool fabrication at the Walker facility. You will review project drawings and material requirements to determine quantities and specifications for pipe, fittings, flanges, valves, and related materials.

You will ensure materials are requisitioned and available when needed, monitoring orders through final receipt and shop-floor availability.

Qualifications

• Ability to read piping isometrics or shop drawings.
• Experience using ERP systems to manage materials.
• Strong attention to detail with large data sets.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed material takeoffs from piping isometrics and translate into bills of material.
• Compare drawing requirements against purchased and available materials; identify and resolve discrepancies.
• Prepare material requisitions based on required need dates and track outstanding, delayed, and late materials.
• Prepare and maintain weekly material forecasts for assigned projects.
• Work with Shop Operations, Project Management, and Procurement to identify and resolve material issues that may delay spool fabrication.
