Job summary

Staxmatic is hiring an experienced Pipefitter Foreman to lead field pipefitting crews on a dedicated commercial project in Texas. This hands-on foreman role covers layout through turnover, supervising crew, ensuring safety, and meeting schedule and quality standards on site.

You will collaborate with the Project Manager and Superintendent, read drawings and specs, manage materials, and drive daily production while maintaining OSHA safety practices and code compliance.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of commercial piping field experience, including at least 2 years in a foreman or lead role.
  • Journeyman Pipefitter Status or Welding Certification.
  • Strong working knowledge of piping systems (steel, copper, PVC/CPVC, black iron, etc.), fittings, valves, and hangers/supports.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, isometrics, blueprints, and project specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, schedule, and direct a crew of pipefitters, welders, and helpers on commercial piping installations, including layout, fabrication, hanging, and testing of piping systems.
  • Apply mechanical piping knowledge to review drawings, develop material takeoffs, and create field layouts and sketches to support installation activities.
  • Oversee field installation of process, HVAC, and mechanical piping systems per plans, specifications, and code.
  • Drive daily production by planning pipefitting activities, loading manpower, and aligning crews, tools, and equipment with the construction schedule.
  • Coordinate pipe routing and installation with other trades to avoid conflicts and maintain project schedule.
  • Read and interpret construction drawings, piping blueprints, isometrics, and specifications.
  • Maintain control of materials, deliveries, staging areas, and tool inventory to prevent delays and rework.
  • Conduct daily toolbox talks and enforce jobsite safety policies, including proper use of PPE.

Position Overview

Staxmatic is hiring an experienced Pipefitter Foreman to lead field pipefitting crews on a dedicated commercial or process construction project in Texas. This is a hands‑on foreman role responsible for the full lifecycle of field and pre‑fabricated pipe installation on one assigned job site, from layout through turnover, overseeing crew supervision, safety compliance, and schedule performance. The Pipefitter Foreman will work closely with the Project Manager, Superintendent, and other trades to ensure all work is completed safely, on schedule, and to quality and code standards.

This is a 100% on‑site construction role in Texas for a hands‑on foreman who thrives on running one crew at a time, building a strong crew, and seeing the job through all phases.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise, schedule, and direct a crew of pipefitters, welders, and helpers on commercial piping installations, including layout, fabrication, hanging, and testing of piping systems.
  • Apply mechanical piping knowledge to review drawings, develop material takeoffs, and create field layouts and sketches to support installation activities.
  • Oversee field installation of process, HVAC, and mechanical piping systems per plans, specifications, and code.
  • Drive daily production by planning pipefitting activities, loading manpower, and aligning crews, tools, and equipment with the construction schedule.
  • Coordinate pipe routing and installation with other trades (electrical, sheet metal, controls, fire protection) to avoid conflicts and maintain project schedule.
  • Read and interpret construction drawings, piping blueprints, isometrics, and specifications.
  • Maintain control of materials, deliveries, staging areas, and tool inventory to prevent delays and rework.
  • Conduct daily toolbox talks and enforce jobsite safety policies, including proper use of PPE, fall protection, hot work permits, and confined space procedures.
  • Enforce company and OSHA job site safety standards and respond to incidents as needed.
  • Perform quality inspections and welding/joint checks to ensure work meets contract documents, codes, and inspection requirements.
  • Work alongside the Superintendent to plan upcoming work and contribute pipefitting input to the 3–6 week lookahead.
  • Assist with tracking and updating RFIs, submittals, and as-built documentation based on field progress.
  • Step in with tools when needed to address critical path work, support the crew, or maintain schedule commitments.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications

  • OSHA 10 certification required.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
  • Daily work on active commercial construction jobsites in Texas.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, and work at heights.
  • Ability to lift up to 50–75 lbs as required.
  • Use of required PPE at all times on job sites.
