Boston Government Services, LLC. (BGS) is seeking a Pipping Engineer to support our clients in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.
About the Role
The Piping Engineer will provide Consolidated Nuclear Security, LLC (CNS), Mission Engineering with full‑time piping design engineering support for facility and production area activities in Cat 2 and Cat 3 facilities.
Responsibilities
- Provide design output documentation to support minor facility modifications. The types of design output documents typically developed by a piping design engineer within the Mission Engineering organization are drawings, engineering instructions, data sheets, equipment specifications, equivalency evaluations, and calculations.
- Work with other engineering disciplines and plant organizations to produce timely design output.
Requirements
- Requires a Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology accredited program relevant to engineering discipline plus 10 or more years of relevant professional experience, or an MS degree in a relevant engineering discipline plus 10 or more years of relevant professional experience.
- Must be able to conduct pipe stress analysis.
- Experience with AutoPipe is a plus but not required.
- Familiarity with and experience in developing designs in accordance with ASME B31.3 and ASME B31.1.
- Experience in a Nuclear Regulatory Commission or U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) regulated environment is desirable.
- Requires an understanding of Conduct of Engineering, Conduct of Operations, and Conduct of Maintenance for facilities operating within a nuclear regulated environment.
- Requires strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interface effectively with various clients, production and support organizations, management, and hourly wage employees.
- Must be willing to perform field walk‑downs and work in a production environment.
- Requires a DOE Q security clearance; however, all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Successful drug screening.
Location/Work Arrangement
- This position is a fully onsite position at Oak Ridge, Tennessee.
- Schedule is full time, Monday‑Friday, 40‑hour week.
