Job summary

Engineering Resource Group, Inc. seeks a permanent Piping Design Mechanical Engineer to lead industrial piping design for complex process facilities in Reading, PA. You will develop P&IDs, isometrics and 3D plant models while ensuring code compliance and safe operation.

The role requires BS in Mechanical Engineering, at least 7 years of experience, proficiency in AutoCAD and pipe-stress tools (CAESAR II), and readiness to perform field walk-downs and support startup activities.

Qualifications

• BS Mechanical Engineering required.
• Minimum 7 years of experience designing and sizing industrial piping systems.
• Experience producing P&IDs, isometrics and plan/elevation drawings.
• Experience with water, gases, oils, chemicals and solvents is preferred.
• EIT certification a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design piping systems for industrial facilities.
• Develop P&IDs, isometrics, plans and elevations.
• Perform line sizing and pressure drop calculations.
• Perform pipe stress analysis.
• Support construction, commissioning and startup.
• Verify designs comply with piping codes and standards.
• Perform field verifications and walk-downs.
• Specify and select piping components and materials.
