Job summary

Synerfac Inc. in Wyomissing, PA seeks an experienced Mechanical Piping Engineer to design and manage industrial piping systems across sectors. You will develop piping layouts, perform sizing calculations, and create P&IDs and isometrics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 7+ years of experience designing and sizing industrial piping systems.
• Experience developing P&IDs, isometric drawings, plans, and elevations.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD; experience with Revit/Plant 3D a plus.

Responsibilities

Synerfac is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer specializing in Industrial Piping Systems for an established engineering consulting firm in Wyomissing, PA. This position offers the opportunity to work on a variety of industrial and process engineering projects across metals manufacturing, heavy industrial, pharmaceutical, food and beverage, and light manufacturing facilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in piping system design, engineering calculations, and AutoCAD, with the ability to independently develop piping layouts and collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

• -Design and develop piping systems for industrial and process facilities.
• -Perform piping system sizing, pressure drop calculations, and material requirement evaluations.
• -Prepare Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), isometric drawings, plans, and elevation drawings.
• -Develop piping layouts and technical specifications for water, gases, oils, chemicals, and solvent systems.
• -Ensure piping designs comply with applicable engineering codes and industry standards.
• -Assist with piping component selection, material specifications, and equipment requirements.
• -Perform piping stress analysis and calculations as needed.
• -Utilize AutoCAD to develop and modify piping system drawings and construction documentation.
• -Conduct onsite field surveys, equipment walkdowns, and verification of existing piping systems.
• -Provide technical support during construction, including troubleshooting and field coordination.
• -Support commissioning and startup activities for new and modified piping systems.
• -Collaborate with engineers, project managers, contractors, and multidisciplinary design teams.
• -Manage multiple engineering assignments while meeting project deadlines and quality standards.

Job Requirements

• -Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• -Minimum 7 years of experience designing and sizing industrial piping systems.
• -Experience developing P&IDs, isometric drawings, plans, and elevation drawings.
• -Strong understanding of piping systems handling water, gases, oils, chemicals, and solvents.
• -Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• -Experience performing piping system calculations and selecting appropriate materials and components.
• -Ability to conduct field surveys and document existing conditions in manufacturing environments.
• -Strong communication, teamwork, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• -Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• -Ability to walk and stand for extended periods within industrial and manufacturing facilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• -Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
• -Experience performing piping stress calculations and analysis using engineering software.
• -Proficiency with Revit and Plant 3D.
• -Previous engineering experience in metals manufacturing, heavy industrial, pharmaceutical, or food and beverage facilities.
