Job summary

Dover Food Retail is seeking an entry-level Brazing Technician to install refrigeration components and assist with unit layout and setup in Conyers, GA. The role involves brazing copper and steel tubing, assembling piping, and ensuring compliance with safety standards.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions.

Responsibilities

• Measure, cut, bend, assemble and install copper and steel tubing.
• Use Torch to apply solder, braze copper to copper pipes.
• Operate Copper Saw and Tube Bender as needed.
• Flare making and suction/discharge piping tasks.
• Pressurize units and perform leak checks while following safety procedures.

Summary

Performs brazing to install refrigeration components and assists with unit layout and setup in accordance with established standards by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Use Torch to apply solder, (braze copper to copper pipes) Brazing Fundamentals

Qualifications

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• three to six months related experience and/or training
• equivalent combination of education and experience
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
• Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
• Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
