Job summary

Hillphoenix in Conyers, GA is seeking a Piper I to perform brazing and assist with unit layout and setup in accordance with established standards.

Responsibilities include measuring, cutting, bending, assembling copper and steel tubing, torch braze, and leak checks to ensure quality and safety in our refrigeration systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, or related experience.
• Ability to read safety rules and manuals.
• Ability to perform basic math and measurements.
• Ability to write reports and communicate with teams.
• Ability to solve practical problems in a manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities

• Measure, cut, bend, assemble and install copper and steel tubing.
• Use Torch to braze copper to copper pipes.
• Perform brazing fundamentals and operate tube equipment.
• Pressurize and leak check units.
• Maintain tools such as tube cutters and torches.

Summary

Performs brazing to install refrigeration components and assists with unit layout and setup in accordance with established standards by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned

• Measure, cut, bend, assemble and install copper and steel tubing.
• Performs the following tasks:
• Use Torch to apply solder, (braze copper to copper pipes)
• Brazing Fundamentals
• Operate Copper Saw
• Operate Tube Bender
• Flare Making
• Suction Piping
• Discharge Piping
• Pressurizes and leak checks units
• Tools: tube cutters, hand vise, power benders, files, flaring/swedging tools, torch

What Are The Qualifications

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
