Job summary

Dover Food Retail in Conyers, GA is seeking a Piper I to perform brazing and assist with refrigeration component installation. You will layout units, measure and assemble copper/steel piping, and ensure leak checks are completed to specification.

The role requires basic math, reading/comprehension of safety rules, and the ability to operate hand and power tools. High school diploma or GED is required, with related training welcome.

Responsibilities

• Perform brazing to install refrigeration components and assist with unit layout.

• Use torch for soldering/brazing copper to copper pipes and perform leak checks.
• Operate basic fabrication tools: tube cutters, hand vise, power benders, torches.

Other duties may be assignedMeasure, cut, bend, assemble and install copper and steel tubing.Performs the following tasks:Use Torch to apply solder, (braze copper to copper pipes)Brazing FundamentalsOperate Copper SawOperate Tube BenderFlare MakingSuction PipingDischarge PipingPressurizes and leak checks unitsTools: tube cutters, hand vise, power benders, files, flaring/swedging tools, torchWhat are the qualifications:High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
