Job summary

NV Energy is seeking a Pipeline Technician to carry out technical work on the largest interstate natural gas pipeline system in the United States. The role requires skills in controls, corrosion, welding, and mechanical operations, along with maintaining safety and environmental standards.

Qualified candidates should possess an Associate degree in a relevant technical field or equivalent experience. The position entails scheduled maintenance, emergency response, and compliance with operational specifications.

Qualifications

• Associate of Applied Science degree or comparable technical certification preferred.
• Minimum of four to six years of related work experience if education is not met.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on equipment.
• Recognize abnormal operating conditions.
• Support emergency response.
• Operate power tools and specialized instruments.
• Maintain records in compliance with regulations.

Skills

Controls – Install, maintain, troubleshoot PLCs

Measurement – Operate and troubleshoot gas measurement equipment

Corrosion – Install and maintain protection equipment

Mechanical – Repair rotating and reciprocating equipment

Liquefied Natural Gas Operations

Welding – Qualified in API 1104 and ASME

Education

Associate of Applied Science degree in technical specialization

Tools

Power tools

Heavy equipment – backhoes, boom trucks
