Connect to what matters.The OpportunityOur USGO American Gulf Region team in the Lafayette area (Eunice, Gillis, and Rayne Compressor Stations) is expanding to strengthen operations and maintenance capabilities across our natural gas pipeline network and facilities throughout Louisiana and surrounding regions.We are seeking a skilled Pipeline Technician who possesses knowledge and experience of high-pressure natural gas pipeline systems, reciprocating compressors, turbines, gas measurement facilities, and other related equipment.This individual must be a self-starter, capable of working with minimal supervision, who possesses strong analytical, troubleshooting, and decision-making skills.What you’ll doLocate and visually mark subsurface pipeline infrastructure with paint and/or flagsOversee and manage pipeline or utility crossings and encroachmentsComplete required Department of Transportation (DOT) and Company documentationPerform pipeline maintenance activities such as leak repair, clearing and inspection of right-of-way, and assisting with tie-ins of mainline valvesPerform pipeline locates through the state one-call systemPatrol pipeline right-of-way and assist with leak surveysOperate company truckOperate compressor engines and support equipmentPlan, coordinate, and perform mechanical maintenance activities, to include routine corrective maintenance, preventive maintenance, equipment and system improvements, and major maintenance projectsTroubleshoot, operate, and maintain gas-fired reciprocating compressors, turbines, standby generator engines, centrifugal and diaphragm pumps, low pressure boilers, oil coolers, air compressors, large-bank cooler fans and gear boxes, large diameter valves and operators, and other auxiliary equipmentComplete work orders, generate gas handling plans, LOTO Equipment and pipeline segments for maintenance enter data into job plans, create new work orders, etc. in SAPOther tasks as requiredMinimum QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalentExperience locating and marking subsurface pipeline infrastructureLOTO experienceGas HandlingPrevious energy industry or related experiencePreferred QualificationsKnowledge of reciprocating compressors, turbines, and standby generatorsKnowledge of regulators and/or metersIndustrial experience in a plant environmentThis position requires candidates toHave and maintain a valid driver’s license and a safe driving recordSuccessfully complete a pre-employment medical screening, to include drug and alcohol testingBe subject to call out 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and work extended days and/or weeks for emergency response purposesTravel to other company locations for temporary assignments, meetings, or training which would involve some overnight stays away from homeBe subject to working conditions which include adverse weather and temperatures, heavy lifting (50 pounds), and cramped conditionsDriving a motor vehicle is an essential job function of this position.
