Job summary

WBI Energy Transmission is seeking a surveying/mapping professional to support supervisors, land surveyors, project engineers, and GIS personnel in pipeline routing and as-built projects in Montana. The role emphasizes safety and accurate record-keeping in land development and pipeline work.

The ideal candidate has a two-year degree in surveying or geomatics, with experience in AutoCad, PLSS, or GPS, and several years of related technical experience.

Qualifications

• Must have 2-year degree in surveying or related tech or equivalent experience.
• AutoCad, PLSS and/or GPS education or experience.
• Three or more years of related technical experience.
• Five years related technical experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist with surveys and mapping of routes for pipelines, relocations, and related facilities.
• Prepare exhibits, construction maps, and pipeline design drawings.
• Write centerline and legal descriptions for pipelines and facilities.
• Maintain maps, drawings, and records for accurate representations of facilities.
• Perform other tasks and special projects as assigned.

Skills

Land surveying/mapping knowledge

Pipeline/route surveying experience

Education

Two-year degree in surveying/civil technology/geomatics

Associate degree in surveying/civil technology/geomatics

Bachelor’s degree in surveying/civil technology/geomatics

LSI certification (Montana/ND/SD/WY)
