Job summary

Southeast Connections, LLC is seeking an experienced welder to perform field and shop welding for natural gas pipelines, supporting installation, maintenance, and repair projects nationwide. Candidates must hold API 1104 certification, have 3+ years of live gas rig welding experience, and be able to pass company tests, travel within a 4-hour radius, and work long shifts in varied environments.

The Welder is responsible for performing welding tasks essential to the installation, maintenance, and repair of natural gas pipelines. This role involves operating welding equipment, striking arcs to fuse metal components, and ensuring the structural integrity of pipelines. Work may be conducted in the field or within a shop environment, adhering to industry safety and quality standards.

Essential Functions

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

• Perform welding operations for the installation, maintenance, and repair of natural gas pipelines.
• Operate torches, power supplies, and welding equipment to fuse metal components securely.
• Strike arcs by touching electrodes to metal surfaces, completing electrical circuits.
• Assist in pipeline construction, repair, and integrity maintenance.
• Work in various environments, including job sites and fabrication shops.
• Must be able to pass pipe welding test for various gas companies, conforming with ASME certification requirements.
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety protocols, and quality standards.

Education/Experience REQUIRED

• Multiple years' (3+) experience rig welding
• Live Gas Work
• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and listen. The employee is often required to stand, walk, and use hands/fingers.

• Able and willing to work long hours including day, night, and weekend shifts as needed, and work outside of normal hours.
• Able to walk, lift, reach, stoop, stand, grasp, balance, climb, kneel, crouch, and lift up to 50 pounds frequently.
• Able to climb a minimum of 5 rungs of an extension ladder.
• Ability to travel to project sites that are typically within a 4-hour radius of the home office.
• Able to work in outside environments being subjected to weather changes, noise, vibrations, and job hazards
