Job summary

The Engineering Program Manager position in City of Charlotte Water leads Charlotte Water's Pipeline Renewal Program within the Field Operations Division. You provide technical guidance, budgeting, scheduling, and quality control across projects from planning through close-out.

You will supervise staff and consultants, coordinate with other divisions and city departments, and ensure rehabilitation projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field with five years of experience in civil engineering or municipal projects.
  • Master's degree with three years of relevant experience may substitute for the experience requirement.
  • Valid driver's license and City Driver's Permit as required by the city.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Division Manager with planning, implementation, and administration of division objectives.
  • Provide management for projects within Charlotte Water's Pipeline Renewal Program across the life-cycle.
  • Coordinate budgeting, scheduling, quality control, and procurement for projects.
  • Supervise staff and consultants; monitor progress and ensure compliance with standards.
  • Facilitate stakeholder coordination and communication with residents and City leadership.
