Job description

We are currently searching for a motivated Pipeline or Facility Engineer to support our Southeast Region in Atlanta, GA.

To be considered for this position, applicants must have, at minimum, a Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited college/university required.

What you'll be doing:

  • Work independently to confirm the proper installation of gas pipelines
  • Review documentation for MAOP, hydrostatic testing, and code compliance
  • Mark up as-built drawings, alignment sheets, & P&IDs
  • Apply prescribed techniques and procedures in accordance with established industry and client standards, specifications, and processes to perform assigned tasks
  • Prepare engineering sketches and help develop construction drawings
  • Leading a multi-disciplinary team
  • Must be able to work with a team, take direction from supervisors, keep required work schedules, focus attention on details, and follow work rules
  • Knowledge of high-pressure natural gas pipeline construction and remediation

What you need to have:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited college/university required
  • 7 + years related engineering experience in the oil & gas (natural gas, pipelines, energy) industry
  • Valid Professional Engineering Licensure (P.E.) in Georgia with ability to gain additional license
  • Valid Driver's license
  • Field experience relating to pipeline installation (Desired)
  • Working knowledge of CAD and GIS software (Desired)
  • Proficiency with 49 CFR Part 192 and ASME B31.8
  • Knowledge of pipeline fabrication and construction techniques
  • Knowledge of hydrotesting of natural gas pipelines
  • Knowledge of natural gas storage facilities and treatment processes
  • Knowledge of natural gas pipeline regulatory codes and engineering standards
  • Proficient use of MS Outlook, Word, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Strong focus on safe work practices
  • Demonstrates intermediate proficiency in technical subjects
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening to ensure a safe and productive work environment. Volkert adheres to federal guidelines, which may include testing for substances such as marijuana. Please note that federal regulations may differ from state-specific guidelines.
  • If applicable to the position, a post offer fit for duty evaluation to ensure the individual can safely perform the essential functions of the role.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • A satisfactory motor vehicle report (MVR).
