Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking experienced Pipeline Facilities Engineers to join our SE Region team in the Atlanta, GA; Charlotte, NC; or Chattanooga, TN offices. The role focuses on overseeing engineering and consulting for pipeline facilities, leading the creation of design deliverables, and coordinating with other disciplines across projects nationwide.

The position offers growth into leadership roles, opportunities to work on compressor stations, RNG facilities, and metering/regulating

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited BS in Mechanical or Civil Engineering with 7 years pipeline experience.
• ABET-accredited BS in Mechanical or Civil Engineering Technology with FE exam passed and 7 years pipeline experience.
• MS in Mechanical or Civil Engineering with 6 years pipeline experience.
• Proficient with 49 CFR Part 192 and ASME B31.8.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience leading discipline design for large projects and delegating work tasks.
• Ability to travel.

Responsibilities

• Lead execution of pipeline engineering activities.
• Prepare pipeline facilities design deliverables (PFDs, P&IDs, details, BOMs).
• Coordinate survey, geotechnical investigations, permitting, and land acquisition.
• Develop proposals and scope, including conceptual designs and cost estimates.
• Lead coordination with Civil/Structural, Electrical, Instrumentation and Control teams.
• Develop and improve design processes and factory acceptance testing.
• Provide leadership, training, and mentoring to engineers.
• Provide field support during construction.
• Support business development and marketing initiatives.
