Job summary

Plains is seeking a Pipeline Operator in the United States (Texas/Wink area) to oversee the operation and maintenance of pipeline assets including pumps, tanks and LACTs, ensuring safe transport and storage of crude oil and products.

You will perform quality and quantity measurements, inspect facilities, and maintain records while coordinating with the Control Center and performing on-call duties as needed. Strong math, basic PC skills, and valid driver's license are required.

Qualifications

• Must have pipeline knowledge and experience, able to manage pump station, pipeline and lease crude oil shipping responsibilities.
• Ability to read and comprehend technical operational manuals.
• Basic math and computer/PC skills.
• As job proficiency is attained, ability to calculate fluid flow and batch scheduling; use basic sampling equipment.
• Must possess or obtain operator qualifications as deemed by the Operations Supervisor and complete Haz-Mat training and meet minimum DOT requirements.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain identified pipeline assets and facilities (pumps, tanks, LACTs, gathering facilities).
• Accurately measure crude oil quality and quantity and report per Plains procedures.
• Perform monthly DOT tankage inspections and fire extinguisher checks; maintain records.
• Inspect perimeter fencing and security; ensure routine and DOT maintenance on ROW, equipment and valves.
