Job summary

Plains is seeking a Pipeline Operator to operate and maintain pipeline assets, ensuring safe transportation and storage of crude and refined products. You will monitor movements, perform routine inspections, and coordinate with the Control Center to confirm deliveries.

Applicants should have a high school diploma, pipeline knowledge, basic math and computer skills, and the ability to work outdoors in varying conditions. Travel and on-call work may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Pipeline knowledge and experience.
• Ability to read technical operational manuals.
• Basic math and computer skills.
• Valid driver's license and clean record.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• Strong record-keeping and organization.
• Haz-Mat training and DOT requirements.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for petroleum product movements in and out of pipeline pump stations and custody transfer with carriers and customers.
• Routinely inspects pumps and valves for proper operation.
• Measures crude oil quality and quantity according to Plains procedures.
• Performs monthly DOT tankage inspections and equipment records.
• Inspects perimeter fencing and security; reports infractions.
• Maintains DOT compliance on ROW, equipment and valves.
• Communicates with Pipeline Control Center and witnesses meter proving.
• Runs pipeline pigs and supports related tasks as needed.
• Performs other pipeline-related tasks as deemed by Operations Supervisor.
