Job summary

Marathon Petroleum Company LP is seeking a Pipeline Technician to maintain and operate pipeline facilities, valves, pigging, shut-ins, and related equipment. Based in Smithfield, West Virginia, the role includes learning all modes of station operations and supporting remote compressor stations, valves, and engines.

You will perform leak surveys, inspections, and data reporting while completing Operator Qualified tests (OQ).

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to pass drug test and background check.
• Must be able to work 12-hour shifts including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Must pass Operator Qualified (OQ) tests for tasks.

Responsibilities

• Maintains and repairs pipeline equipment and follows procedures.
• Commissions startup/shutdowns and performs leak surveys.
• Installs markers and inspects rights-of-ways.
• Locates pipelines and oversees excavations/line crossings.
• Records data, completes reports, and creates work orders.
