The role requires leading heavy excavation tasks, ensuring DOT and PHMSA compliance, and performing administrative duties while reporting to a Pipeline Crew Leader.

Qualifications

• Must follow all safety, environmental and regulatory policies.
• Strong mechanical skills and knowledge of heavy equipment maintenance.
• Ability to read and interpret company policies, manuals, and blueprints.
• Respond promptly to emergencies or after-hours calls.
• Good communication with team and supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Perform excavation spotter tasks and manage excavation crossings.
• Troubleshoot and maintain DOT mainline isolation valves.
• Launch, monitor and receive pipeline pigs; develop pigging plans.
• Disassemble meter tubes and perform internal cleaning.
• Operate large trucks and trailers to transport equipment/materials.
• Calibrate and maintain holiday detector for coating inspection.
• Perform pressure tests of pipelines and fabrications.
• Locate pipelines with detectors and reference drawings.
• Repair shorted casings and install CP test points.
• Prepare pipelines for encirclement sleeves for repairs.
• Evacuate, purge and load pipelines; manage gas during hot work.
• Perform basic acetylene cutting and beveling; level set by candidate.
• Handle admin tasks: order parts, time sheets, expenses; maintain vehicle.
• Represent the company when interacting with contractors and vendors.
• Promote Kinder Morgan Core Values; report safety/environmental concerns.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
