Job summary

Kinder Morgan is seeking a field maintenance technician to operate and maintain gas pipelines and compression facilities across assigned sites. The role involves hands-on mechanical work, coordination with landowners and officials, and ensuring safe, compliant operations.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, project support, documentation, and after-hours callouts. A valid driver’s license and ability to travel near the reporting location are required.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Basic computer skills (MS Office, OS familiarity) required.
• Strong mechanical ability and hands-on troubleshooting.
• Good verbal and written communication; customer focus essential.
• Shift work and standby availability expected; ability to work with multiple teams.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain pipelines and compression facilities, including compressors, engines, turbines, pumps, valves, and seals.
• Install, repair, service, and maintain valves, pipe, and pipeline appurtenances.
• Maintain facilities and right-of-way; manage storage areas and offices.
• Support projects: excavation oversight, pigging support, leak surveys, and safety tasks.
• Coordinate with landowners, public officials, and emergency personnel as needed.
• Oversee work by third parties; train contractors and visitors.
• Perform governmental compliance activities (PHMSA, state agencies, EPA).
• Identify and address safety and environmental concerns; participate in safety programs.
• Prepare procedures, work plans, and documentation; ensure regulatory and tariff compliance.
• Respond to callouts and emergencies after hours; maintain regular attendance.
