Job summary

Marathon Petroleum Corporation is seeking a Mechanical Technician for the Great Lakes Area in Woodhaven, MI. The role supports MPL Great Lakes Area with mechanical maintenance and reliability duties across multiple facilities involved in 24/7 operations.

The ideal candidate has a strong mechanical/electrical background, can troubleshoot problems, work independently or in a team, and can pass background checks. Travel and overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate's degree in a related technical field preferred.
• Previous pipeline or petroleum industry experience with emphasis on mechanical/electrical preferred.
• Proficiency in basic computer skills; valid driver’s license; able to pass background checks.

Responsibilities

• Perform work in a safe and environmentally conscious manner per Environmental, Safety and Regulatory requirements.
• Perform routine maintenance and coordinate maintenance activities.
• Respond to and resolve station alarms and communicate findings to appropriate parties.
• Generate computerized work requests for maintenance tasks and coordinate activities.
