Job summary

Plains is seeking a dedicated Utility Locator in Texas to locate and mark pipeline facilities, conduct inspections, and coordinate damage prevention. You'll work with contractors, ensure safety compliance, and maintain detailed records for regulatory reporting.

Candidate will perform field duties, read maps, and operate equipment, with on-call requirements after business hours. Valid license and 0–2 years DOT safety experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 0–2 years of experience with DOT Pipeline Safety/Part 195 regulations.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Locate and mark facilities per Damage Prevention Program and One-Call procedures.
• Perform pipeline patrols, density surveys, leak detection, and inspections.
• Coordinate local Damage Prevention activities and ensure compliance.
• Oversee excavation activities near pipeline facilities and contractors.
• Prepare documentation, as-built drawings, and reports for projects.
• Represent the company during construction and at meetings with stakeholders.
• Supervise third-party employees and ensure safety procedures are followed.
• Enter and manage data in Korterra and related applications.
• Support development of O&M procedures and site-specific work plans.
• Work outdoors in various weather; be available for on-call duties after hours.
