Job summary

CES Consulting, LLC is seeking a Pipeline Inspector II to support our client and growing team in Maryland, with consistent 40 hours per week and opportunities for overtime. This role focuses on complex water and sewer projects and requires independent work under the Contract Manager.

Responsibilities include ensuring compliance with specifications, inspecting trenching, coordinating restoration with contractors and authorities, and preparing detailed daily reports.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent with 4+ years in inspection of underground water/sewer pipeline construction.
• Experience inspecting water/sewer projects and related construction activities.
• Possession of or ability to obtain NASSCO PACP/MACP/LACP, ITCP or MD Rural Water Operators License.
• Obtain MDDA SHA Flagger Certification within 1 year and MDE Water Sampling Certification.
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken.

• Ensure full compliance with specifications at WSSC, SHA, counties and localities.
• Complete daily inspection, timesheet and mileage reports promptly.
• Assist Contract Managers and help train other inspectors.

• Attend staff meetings as scheduled.
• Read and interpret construction plans and contract documents.

We are hiring a Pipeline Inspector II to support our client and growing team in Maryland in the Montgomery or Prince George's county areas.Consistent 40 hours and opportunities for Overtime

Position Summary:

The Pipeline Inspector II will perform inspections on the more complex WSSC water and sewer projects. This position works independently under the general direction of the Contract Manager and provides guidance and aid in the development of Inspectors. Inspector II will assist in the training of new inspectors on the standards and practices of WSSC water and sewer projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ensuring full compliance with WSSC, SHA, County, and local municipality specifications.
• Inspects compaction and trench backfilling.
• Validates third-party geotechnical inspections.
• Observes compaction work in the process.
• Coordinates restoration work with contractors and local authorities.
• Complete Daily Inspection Reports, Timesheets, and Mileage reports in a timely manner.
• Assist the Pipeline Construction Division Contract Managers as needed.
• Attend staff meetings as scheduled.

Education, Certifications, and Experience:

• High School diploma or equivalent and 4 or more 5 years of experience in the inspection and/or installation of underground water and sewer pipeline construction.
• Experience should include any combination of water/sewer construction, sewer-main lining, sewer manhole lining, replacement by excavation, and pipe bursting.
• Experience inspecting at least four (4) water/sewer contracts within the last five (5) years.
• Possession of at least one of the following certifications or ability to obtain : NASSCO (PACP, MACP, LACP), ITCP or Maryland Rural Water Operators License.
• Obtain Underground Utility Erosion and Sediment Control Yellow Card within one year.
• Obtain MDDA SHA Flagger Certification Card within one year.
• Obtain MDE Water Sampling Certification with one year.
• Extensive knowledge and experience in new and rehabilitative pipeline construction and construction practices, procedures, and materials.
• Knowledge of soil compaction and testing methods.
• Knowledge of concrete placement.
• Fluently communicate in English, both orally and in writing.
• Knowledge in reading and interpreting construction plans and contract documents.
• Ability to compute volumes and quantities on construction materials.
• Prepare accurate, detailed reports of daily project progress.
• Communicates effectively orally and in writing and can work in a team environment.
• Enter confined spaces, work outdoors in inclement weather, climb in and out of ditches and other structures under construction, and have the ability to lift objects that weigh up to 50 lbs.
• Knowledge of computer programs, including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Familiarity with Erosion and Sedimentation Control.
