Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of pipeline construction and maintenance.
  • Lead and coordinate a crew, ensuring safety and efficiency.
  • Develop and complete reporting tickets in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors and suppliers as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with pipeline safety standards and regulations.
  • Mentor subordinates and uphold professional conduct.
  • Maintain equipment readiness and perform start-up procedures.

Job Status: Full-Time
Summary/Objective:

The Pipeline Foreman will be responsible for overall daily operation and construction.

Essential Functions:
  • Comprehensive knowledgeof Underground Utility construction and installation.
  • Working knowledge of Pipeline safety requirements, applicable standards, rules and regulations, and pass a proficiency exam to demonstrate retention.
  • Working knowledge of 811 National Call before you dig principles and requirements.
  • Comprehensive knowledgeof excavation hazards and concerns. (Overhead lines, adjacent structures, etc.)
  • Comprehensive knowledgeof load securement practices.
  • Demonstrate the ability to manage and coordinate a crew
  • Demonstrate the ability to complete reporting tickets in a timely and completed fashion.
  • Willingness to cross train and work among other divisions when needed.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in daily equipment start up, operating equipment, and successfully complete selected/required Operator Qualifications (OQ’s).
  • Has proficiency in all functions of a Laborer II.
  • Knowledge on operation of equipment such as dozer, excavator, or grader.

  • Demonstrate effective leadership and supervision of personnel, in the performance of the duties and functions required, to complete work efficiently.
  • Assist Manager to coordinate and oversee subcontractors, vendors and suppliers.
  • Demonstrate the ability to manage time, materials, resources as well as personnel.
  • Ability to work without continuous supervision, and exhibit problem solving skills, and demonstrate maximum effort to accomplish tasks with the resources provided.
  • Demonstrate teamwork, team building with supervisors, subordinates and peers.
  • Demonstrate effective communications with supervisors, subordinates, peers and client representatives.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in mentoring subordinates.
  • Demonstrate honesty integrity and professionalism in all aspects, during the performance of duties.
  • Demonstrate the application of best practices in pipeline construction and installation.
  • Perform “competent Person” duties, according to applicable standards, rules, regulations and Company policies and procedures.
  • Must have valid driver’s license and meet company insurance standards.
  • Must have reliable transportation to shop.
  • If driving for company must maintain a clean driving record (for drivers).
  • Must be able to complete all safety requirements of the job for yourself and team members.
  • Must complete all required paperwork within appropriate time frame.
  • Conduct themselves in a professional manneralways in the execution of their duties.
  • Maintains acceptable personal hygiene and professional appearance and is clean shaven daily.
  • Required to embrace customer software requirements and participate in data logging as deemed necessary.
  • Required to attend all safety meetings unless approved otherwise by Manager.
  • Must be able to maintain the cleanliness of all company equipment and vehicles.
  • Abilityto successfully complete a post-offer/pre-employment drug screen, background check, physical and fit for duty.
  • Must have your own housing.
  • Work on continuous improvement efforts for self, subordinates, and customers.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in adhering to Federal, State, Local, Customer and all company Health, Safety and Environmental rules and regulations.

The company will supply adequate training and equipment to perform the functions of the job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work outside in all weather conditions. The employee is exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, cold weather, extreme heat, sustained noisy environment and vibration.

Physical Demands:

Must be able to walk up to 5 miles and physically able to climb stairs, sit, stand, walk, carry, push, and lift up to 75 lbs., pulling, kneeling, bending, twisting, repetitive wrist and hand movements for extended periods of time, and perform numerous tasks that require physical agility and manual dexterity as well as mental acuity throughout shift.

Position type and expected hours of work:

Must be flexible. The typical schedule is M-Sat. Some weekends/holidays are required.
