Job summary

Energy Transfer Partners, L.P. is seeking a skilled field technician to perform operations and maintenance on pipelines and related facilities with minimal supervision. The role emphasizes troubleshooting, valve operation, and routine mechanical tasks in an industrial setting.

Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to read piping schematics and procedures are preferred. Candidates must live within 50 miles of the reporting location and hold a valid driver's license; the job may require

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical background with engines, electric motors, compressors, valves and pipeline equipment.
• Should be able to read piping schematics, drawings and operating procedures.

Responsibilities

• Know valve function, location and operation of station valves and mainline block valves.
• Inspect station equipment, yard piping, valves and report problems.
• Change compressor valves, spark plugs, fuel hoses and igniters and perform routine maintenance.
• Operate the ESD system and know its function and location.
• Operate forklift, tractor and other power-operated equipment.
• Paint piping, equipment and facilities.
• Identify pipelines location using alignment sheets and related tools.
• Assist in shutdowns of pipeline sections.
• Perform leakage surveys and use flame ionization detection equipment.
• Install and maintain pipeline markers.
• Investigate aerial patrol reports and relay findings to responsible parties.
• Investigate encroachments and represent during line crossings.
• Assist in maintaining pipeline right-of-way.
• Identify pipelines location with alignment sheets, pipe locator, probing bar and measure OD.
