Job summary

Kleinfelder is seeking a Pipeline Engineering Program Manager in Houston to lead natural gas and liquids pipeline projects. This role drives design review, budgeting, scheduling, and stakeholder communication in a dynamic, multi‑disciplinary environment.

You will mentor teams, review designs for compliance with codes and standards, and manage all phases of project execution while building strong client relationships and pursuing new opportunities.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of pipeline and energy infrastructure experience.
  • Client development and management experience.
  • Experience in team building, mentoring, and developing project execution teams.
  • Project planning including budgeting, scheduling, and scope changes using standard tools.

Job description

Pipeline Engineering Program Manager – Houston

Kleinfelder is seeking a dynamic Pipeline Engineering Program Manager to lead natural gas and liquids pipeline infrastructure projects in our Houston office. The role involves managing all phases of project execution, from design review and budgeting to scheduling and stakeholder communication.

Key Responsibilities
  • Nurture and grow client relationships for complex, multi‑disciplinary projects
  • Lead, mentor, and advise staff to achieve professional career goals
  • Review pipeline and facility designs, construction specifications, and alternative/feasibility studies to ensure compliance with codes, standards, and design criteria
  • Oversee project pursuits, resource allocation, budget, and client needs; address client concerns
  • Lead technical, cost, and scheduling decisions for interdisciplinary teams to meet quality standards and drive customer value
  • Develop and implement new approaches to resolve problems that arise during project execution
  • Manage all project phases: organization, subcontractor management, scheduling, financial management, health & safety stewardship, and reporting
  • Collaborate on a program of design and construction management projects to continuously improve process development
  • Build relationships on technical and client service teams and within client organizations
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
Education & Certification
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering (required)
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license (required)
Skills & Experience
  • 8+ years of pipeline and energy infrastructure experience
  • Client development and management experience
  • Experience in team building, mentoring, and developing project execution teams
  • Project planning including budgeting, scheduling, and scope changes using standard tools
  • Ability to assess and resolve internal and external issues and conflicts
