Job summary

CHS Inc. in McPherson, Kansas seeks a Pipeline Engineer Intern to support Mechanical Engineers and help achieve reliable, safe, and economical pipeline operation. You must be detail oriented with strong verbal and written communication skills.

The internship runs at 40 hours per week. Eligible students are currently Juniors or Seniors in Mechanical or Civil Engineering programs. Valid driver's license required.

Qualifications

• Currently a Junior or Senior enrolled in a Mechanical or Civil Engineering program at an accredited four-year college/university.
• Valid state issued driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support assistance to pipeline Mechanical Engineers to achieve equipment reliability and performance while meeting company safety, environment, and economic guidelines.
• May participate in station manifold design, inspection data analysis, equipment repair plan development, materials selection, troubleshoot equipment performance and develop recommendations for maintenance.
• Conduct hydraulic analysis of pipeline segments.
• Assist Engineers and Electrical Techs in P&ID development.
• Work with operations and maintenance personnel to schedule installation and repair of pipeline equipment.
• Recognize and report safety, health and environmental issues that impact operations and personnel.
• Projects may include equipment design, preparation of specifications, equipment integrity evaluations, research investigations, report preparation, and other limited-scope activities.
