Job summary

You must be currently enrolled in an Electrical Engineering program, available for 40 hours per week, and ideally a junior with internship exposure in petrochem or refining processes; familiarity with circuit theory and CMMS is a plus.

Qualifications

• Detail oriented with strong written and verbal communication.
• Currently enrolled in an Electrical Engineering program at a four-year college/university.
• Junior enrolled in Electrical Engineering program at a four-year college/university.
• Completion of core engineering courses such as Circuit Theory.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine engineering calculations.
• Identify and organize documentation for refinery electrical utilization and distribution systems; verify field drawings and store in CMMS and drawing storage system.
• Design motor feeder circuits, P&IDs updates, electrical area classification drawings, conduit routes and equipment locations.
• Create revised switch racks, motor control center elevation drawings, one-line diagrams, schematics, conduit and cable lists.
• Review safety, health and environmental issues and report recommendations affecting operations and personnel.
• Interpret instructions and apply engineering principles to assignments and possible solutions.
• Contribute to equipment design, testing of materials, specifications, process studies, and report preparation.
