Job summary

WSP USA Inc. is seeking a CAD Designer to join our Tampa, FL or Houston, TX offices. Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and experience with oil and gas pipelines are required. The role involves developing design packages, drafting plans, and modeling 3D surfaces in coordination with engineers and other designers.

You will prepare plans, sections, details, and as-built drawings, ensure compliance with standards, and collaborate to meet client expectations across multiple projects and teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of field-related work experience with AutoCAD/Land Development/Civil Design or Civil 3D.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D required.
• Knowledge of design for Oil and Gas pipelines or linear utility systems.
• Advanced technical skills across related software.
• Detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to manage multiple projects.
• Strong oral and written communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Develop design packages for linear pipelines per project engineer guidance.
• Follow drafting standards and prepare plans, profiles, sections, and details.
• Model 3D surfaces representing terrain, waterways, roads, and utilities.
• Create conceptual plans and figures for proposals and reports.
• Collaborate with engineers and other designers to meet client needs.
• Produce maps from topographic data and survey notes.
• Maintain base files for pipeline design and ensure design quality.
• Research public data and convert to Civil 3D compatible files.
• Review survey data for completeness and consistency per standards.
• Contribute to drafting standards improvements as needed.
