Job summary

Fessler & Bowman Inc. is seeking experienced pipelayers to support civil earthwork and utility projects in Michigan. The role requires hands-on installation of waterlines, storm and sanitary sewers, and close teamwork to meet project deadlines.

The company emphasizes safety, quality, and customer satisfaction on a fast-paced construction site. Candidates should have 2+ years of relevant experience, the ability to read elevations and plans, and be able to lift up to 75 lbs.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience with installation of waterline, storm sewer and/or sanitary sewer.
• Ability to read elevations and interpret utility plans.
• Understanding trench safety.
• Experience using pipe lasers, sight transits and/or roto lasers and other required tools.
• Knowledge of testing procedures for utilities.
• Able to work in deep excavations and in harsh weather conditions.
• Must be able to understand English.
• Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Aid in installation of storm drains, water, and utility lines.
• Load and unload tools.
• Hook pipe to machine and assist in aligning components.
• Assist in setting concrete boxes and manholes, and line-and-grade structures.
• Set frames and grates on structures.
• Maintain safety practices and wear PPE.
• Operate cut off saws and measuring tools to cut pipe length.
• Travel to surrounding job sites as needed.
