Job summary

Sundt Construction in Mesa, AZ is seeking a Pipelayer with at least 2 years' experience in underground ductile iron pipe and water services. You will assist the foreman to lead a crew in installing underground piping, read plans, coordinate daily work, operate equipment, and ensure safety and efficiency.

Pay rate is $30–$32/hr, DOE, with 40+ hours weekly and potential overtime. Minimum requirements include NCCER Core Curriculum and/or a high school diploma, with 1–2+ years'

Qualifications

  • NCCER Core Curriculum or High School diploma preferred.
  • 1 year experience (Level I), 2 years experience (Level II) in industrial/construction preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist foreman in leading crew for underground piping installation.

Job description

Looking for a Pipelayer with at least 2 years' experience, in underground ductile iron pipe and water services; Assists the foreman with leading a crew in the installation of underground piping. Helps coordinate daily work, read plans, operate equipment, and ensure work is completed safely and efficiently. Pay rate is $30 - $32/hr, DOE; Working 40 + hrs. a week with the potential of overtime. No per diem is being offered.

Job Summary

Assist skilled craft workers in performing their assigned duties. Work in other crafts at levels appropriate to training and skills as requested by project supervision. Must have the ability to take direction from a higher skilled worker or foreman.

Minimum Job Requirements
  • NCCER Core Curriculum and /or a High School diploma or equivalent is also preferred.
  • One year experience (level I), two years' experience (level II) and three plus years' experience in the industrial/commercial construction industry is preferred.
  • Possess effective verbal and written communication skills.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment is required (including but not limited to; steel toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hardhat, vest, etc.)
  • May reach above shoulder heights and below the waist on a frequent basis
  • May stoop, kneel, or bend, on an occasional basis
  • May use telephone, computer system, email, or other electronic devices on a limited basis to communicate with internal and external customers or vendors
  • Move in and around confined, cluttered and uneven areas.
  • Must be able to comply with all safety standards and procedures
  • Required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects on a frequent basis
  • Will climb and maintain balance on steel/wood framework, stairs, ladders and scaffolds.
  • Will lift, push or pull objects up to 50Ibs. on an occasional basis
  • Work up to a 12 hour shift doing hard physical work in varying temperatures and outside conditions.
