Job summary

JMAC Energy Services is seeking a physically capable pipe installation technician in Williston, ND. You will install and lay ductile iron, PVC, and HDPE pipelines, handle valves and manholes, and work with water distribution in challenging field conditions.

You will operate heavy equipment as a spotter, read blueprints, and follow safety protocols while performing trenching, dewatering, and routine site cleanup. Overtime and night shifts may be required.

  • Experience working outdoors in varying weather; overtime/night shifts possible

Responsibilities

  • Lead pipe installation and trenching on site
  • Install ductile iron, PVC, and HDPE water/sewer/storm pipelines and structures
  • Handle valves, manholes, and related components
  • Serve as spotter for heavy equipment operators
  • Read blueprints and interpret elevations and grades
  • Operate pumps for dewatering and support site cleanup
  • Set up lasers and grade devices; understand plans
  • Follow OSHA trench safety and shoring procedures
  • Use saws and tools to cut and prepare pipes
  • Transport parts and supplies to the jobsite
  • Maintain safety and compliance on the project site
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Job description

SUMMARY

This is NOT an oil and gas line position. This position requires experiences in PVC, HDPE, and ductile iron installation. Also needs high levels of experience in water, sewer, storm drain pipeline and associated structures. Installation of rural and fresh water distribution in an oil field is a main duty.


DUTIES

  • Key player on the pipe installation and excavations
  • Handling and placing pipe, valves, manholes, etc.
  • Function as a spotter for heavy equipment operators
  • Installing ductile iron, water, sewer, storm drain pipeline and associated structures
  • Installing rural and fresh water distribution in an oil field
  • Ongoing cleanup responsibilities
  • Fencing skills are a must
  • Sets up lasers and grade devices, understands blueprints, grades and elevations
  • Familiar with PVC, HDPE and Metal waterlines, sewers and storm piping.
  • Familiar with mechanical joint installation such as flanges, megalugs, mechanical couplers etc.
  • Uses a chainsaw, axe, or other tool to remove trees and brush from the pipeline right-of-way
  • Uses chopsaws, compactors, and other tools related to pipe installation
  • Familiar with OSHA trench safety regulations and various types of shoring systems
  • Familiar with rigging for pipe, manholes, shoring etc.
  • Operates pumps for dewatering
  • Cleans and prepares PVC or HDPE pipe for installation. Installing pipe joints
  • Transports parts and supplies to the jobsite from a storage site or the nearest town
  • Other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

  • Very physical job, must be able to lift 0-125lbs from a variety of levels up to 6ft. vertically
  • Experience working outside in the elements and the ability to work overtime and nights if needed
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively with all levels of co-workers and customers
  • Able to read and understand company policies and procedures
  • Able to read and interpret plans and specifications
