Job summary

Garney is seeking a Pipelayer to assemble, install, and repair underground pipes and fittings in water, sewer, and drain projects. You will work with metal, PVC, ductile, and concrete pipes and coordinate with equipment Operators on trenching and alignment.

Responsibilities include setting up pipe lasers, testing for leaks, backfilling, and direct signaling. Travel and overtime are required; prior experience with large-diameter pipes is needed to qualify.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience installing large diameter pipes for water, sewer, storm drain
• Willing to complete trainings and certifications provided by Garney such as Rigging and Signaling Certification, Confined Space Training Certification, and OSHA 10 hour
• Must be willing to travel and work overtime

• Perform functions of a Laborer as required
• Assist equipment Operators in the placement of pipe
• Direct equipment Operators with hand signals

• Assemble and install valves, fittings and pipe composed of metal, PVC, ductile and concrete
• Joins pipes by use of screws, bolts, fittings, solder, and plastic solvent cement
• Test pipes for leakage. Measures and cuts pipe

A Pipelayer position is available at Garney. To be considered for this position you must have previous experience with pipe laying. As a Pipelayer , you will assemble, install and repair underground pipes and fittings. This includes, but not limited to, metallic and plastic pipe, ductile iron pipe, steel pipe and concrete pipe for water, sewer and drain work.
