Qualifications:

1. Minimum of 1 year experience on a utility crew
2. Working knowledge of shoring and excavation
3. Ability to read cut/grade sheets
4. Work in outdoor environments in all seasons
5. Comfortable working alongside heavy equipment and able to communicate with operators, workers, and pedestrians
6. Must pass pre-employment physical and drug screening

Responsibilities:

1. Installation and repair of waterline, sanitary sewer, and storm sewer
2. Align and position pipes to prepare for joining
3. Connect pipe pieces and seal joints
4. Install and use instruments such as lasers, grade rods, and transit levels
5. Check slopes for conformance using levels or lasers
6. Assist with covering pipes with earth or other materials
7. Cut pipes to required lengths
8. Dig trenches to desired depths using hand or trenching tools
9. Grade and level trench bases with tamping machines and hand tools
10. Work in confined and enclosed spaces
11. Willing to train others in pipe-laying and provide supervision
12. Ensure adherence to health and safety policies
13. Maintain positive relationships with customers and co-workers

Job Details:

Type: Full-Time, Year-Round

Working Hours: Start between 6:00 AM and 7:00 AM; overtime, nights, and weekends may be required
