Job summary

Hill York, a full-service mechanical contractor in Florida, seeks an experienced Pipefitter to lay out, fabricate, assemble, install, weld, and maintain piping systems for steam, hot water, heating, cooling and process systems. This position requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and quality in both new construction and retrofit projects.

You will read blueprints, cut and fit pipe, connect components, weld in multiple positions, and ensure compliance

Qualifications

• Ability to read and understand blueprints, technical drawings, and construction documents.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to climb stairs and ladders safely.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Comfortable working in various environments, including confined spaces and outdoor conditions.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety protocols.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to operate machinery such as forklifts and scissor lifts safely.

Responsibilities

• Layout, fit, assemble, and install piping systems per plans.
• Cut, thread, and bend pipe using hand tools and machines.
• Connect pipes using welding, threading, grooved fittings, soldering, brazing, and fusion.
• Inspect work for compliance with specs, codes, and best practices.
• Coordinate with supervisors and team to meet schedules and quality standards.
• Perform pre-task planning and safety analyses.
