Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• 4 years of related experience in pipefitting or plumbing fields preferred.
• Valid Driver's License required.

Responsibilities

• Select type and size of pipe and related materials per specifications.
• Inspect structures to avoid obstructions during piping installation.
• Plan installation/repair to avoid interfering with other workers.
• Install pipes per regulation guidelines using hand and power tools.
• Cut pipes using saw, pipe cutter, and cutting equipment.
• Thread pipes using a threading machine.
• Bend pipes with bending tools and machines.
• Assemble and install metal and plastic pipes and fittings.
• Connect joints using threaded, soldered, brazed, or cemented methods.
• Secure pipes with brackets, clamps, and hangers.
• Maintain hydraulic and pneumatic components and refrigeration/AC systems.
• Read pressure gauges and inspect systems for leaks.
• Possibly perform welding.
• Gather/collate information and exercise critical thinking.
• Enforce workplace safety regulations.
