Job summary

ASC Pty Ltd in Australia is seeking skilled pipefitters for a long-term deployment to Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, to train and work on naval piping systems.

Placements begin February 2027 for 10 months, with deployment training under US Navy processes; repatriation to WA after assignment.

Qualifications

  • Certificate III in Engineering (Mechanical or Fabrication) is required.
  • Australian citizenship and NV1 defence clearance.
  • 1–3 years of piping/pipefitting experience.
  • Willingness to relocate to Hawaii for minimum 12 months, then Perth, WA.

Responsibilities

  • Manufacture, assemble, service and repair piping systems and components.
  • Cut, fit, shape, bend and assemble pipes per drawings and templates.
  • Assemble, repair, and certify oxygen hoses, manifolds, pumps, valves, and fire suppression equipment.
  • Connect fixtures and test systems for leaks, pressure and proper operation.

To deliver on this new and exciting work, we are seeking skilled trades individuals to undertake long-term, world-leading training in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, U.S.

Placements are availablein February 2027and will be between10 months in duration.

Responsibilities

In the role ofPipefitter,your responsibilities areto provide pipefitting for naval vessels (nuclear/non-nuclear) and facilities, including potable water, steam, air, and temporary ventilation systems.

The responsibilities of the role are as follows:

  • Manufactures, assembles,services andrepairspiping systems and components for new installations or modifications.
  • Cut, fit, shape,bendand assemblepipes using manual or hydraulic tools according to drawings and templates.
  • Assembles, repairs, and certifies oxygen hoses, manifolds, pumps, pressure regulators, valve assemblies, and fire suppression equipment.
  • Connects fixturesand testssystems for leaks, pressure, and proper operation.
Eligibility Criteria

The successful applicant mustpossess:

  • Australian Citizenship
  • An ability to obtain andmaintaina NV1 defence clearance
  • Certificate III inEngineering(Mechanicalor Fabrication)
  • Minimum1-3 years of experience in the profession
  • Ability torelocatetoHawaiiforminimum 12months and then permanentlyrelocateto Perth, WA.
Additional Details

During deployment, you will receive on the job training combined with instructor led classroom training. This training program and work is carried outin accordance withcompany and US Navy processes and procedures.

At the completion of your deployment, you willreturn to Western Australia (WA)to carry out the planning, management, and in-water maintenance activities on the United States Navy Virginia Class Submarines. Repatriation to WA is non-negotiable, so please consider this when applying.
