Huntington Ingalls Industries, Inc. is seeking a Skilled Pipefitter for the Pascagoula shipyard.

You will help install and align critical piping systems across vessels, with duties spanning fit-up, valve installation, and tool-handling in a demanding, safety-focused environment. Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years pipefitting experience.
  • Ability to read blueprints, drawings, and system layouts.
  • Experience fitting and installing various piping materials.
  • Strong focus on safety, quality and teamwork.

Responsibilities

  • Fit and install piping systems made from steel, copper, copper-nickel, and stainless steel.
  • Install valves, fittings, and components per drawings and blueprints.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment to ensure proper fit and alignment.
  • Work in a shipyard environment with heights, tight spaces and changing weather.
  • Support production across multiple shifts to meet ship construction schedules.
  • Follow Ingalls' safety standards in every task and area.

What You'll Do
  • Fit and install piping systems made from materials such as steel, galvanized pipe, copper, copper-nickel, and stainless steel.
  • Install valves, fittings, and components following drawings, arrangements, and blueprints.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment to ensure proper fit, alignment, and installation.
  • Work in a shipyard environment that may include heights, tight spaces, and changing weather conditions.
  • Support production across multiple shifts as needed to meet ship construction schedules.
  • Follow Ingalls' strong safety standards in every task and work area.

What You Bring
  • Hands-on pipefitting experience in industrial, construction, or shipyard environments
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, drawings, and system layouts
  • Skill in fitting and installing a variety of piping materials and components
  • Strong focus on safety, quality, and teamwork
Must Have

Minimum 2 years pipefitting experience

Nice to Have
  • 3 or more years of marine, shipbuilding and construction experience
  • Experience in layout, fit-up, fabrication and installation of pipe, flanges and valves
  • Read and interpret trade drawings and/or blueprints utilizing both metric and standard measurements
  • Experience in setting and erecting units with proficiency in the use of Datum Lines
  • Familiarity with fit-up, alignment tolerances and advanced blue print reading skills
